   My Favorite Book of

the Month

For March I have read Ghost Warrior by  Lucia St. Clair Robson. This book covers the life of the Apache warrior woman named Lozen. Lucia created a novel that has both entertained me and educated me in  the old Apache way of life.

I love her style as she creates hard hiting scenes where you seem to be able to feel the heat, suffer from the cold and wince from pain at every impact of an arrow or slash of an Aapache held knife. I found myself pulling up the blanket over my old bones  when she described the winter and the incredible cold. And then Kicking them off when she took her characters through the heat of the summer months as the characters hit one dry water hole after another. I wanted to hold my breath when she descibed the rotting corpse of a horse that Rafe used for cover as the Apache tried to kill him. I could feel this book and it was like I was in it and part of it. And Lozen...Yes...I fell in love, head over heels with Lozen and almost  could not finish the book because I knew what fate lay a head of her. I truely recommend this novel to anyone who loves adventure and true grit. No matter who you side with the Cowboys or the Indians, this Novel will entertain you from cover to cover. I highly recommend this novel to book clubs and individuals a like.

I am off to to get the my next Lucia St. Clair Robson Novel. Ride the Wind  is a Golden Spur award winner and I can hardly wait to get my hands on it. Bring me my coffee, get my old over-stuffed  chair ready , start  the fire in the fire in the fireplace...looks like I am going to be off on my next reading adventure.  See you later....
